MakeSense Pearlizer is SeneGence’s original liquid highlighter. SeneGence describes it as oil-free and water-resistant, made with botanicals and light-reflecting pigments. It’s the product for that soft, pearly sheen on the high points of your face: cheekbones, brow bone, the bridge of your nose. It comes in one shade, so there’s no guesswork about which one to buy.

Liquid highlighter blends into skin rather than sitting on top, so the glow looks like it’s coming from underneath. The trade-off is flexibility. With one shade, you can’t match it to warmer or deeper skin the way you can with a range. And a little goes a long way: too much can look shiny rather than lit. It suits anyone who wants a subtle, everyday glow.

At $55 for one shade, it’s a big step up from the $27 Pearlizer Highlighter Wand, which offers several shades in an easier format. For most people, I’d point to the wand first. The original Pearlizer makes sense if you love a liquid texture and the single shade flatters you.
